This is the boat a race on–Lanada II. It is a 37 ft. Beneteau. This picture was taken heading out of the channel on a five day race to Canada.
It isn’t always about racing. This photo was taken on Memorial Day. It was a day of celebrating the kickoff of summer with good friends and good boat drinks. We sailed to Rum Runners– one of my favorite little tiki bar restaurants right on the water.
When not on the water, my friends and I can usually be found at the club house. One of my best friends flew in from Newport for a regatta. The club had tents set up and a fun band for the kickoff. There’s always a party.
“Summertime is one of favorite times of year. I’ve always loved being in or on the water. I crave the heat and sunshine, and I have a huge passion for boating and racing sailboats. As soon as the PBT season wrapped up I headed home to Erie where I spent an amazing couple of weeks on Presque Isle Bay and Lake Erie. I race 2-3 times a week with the Erie Yacht Club Racing Fleet, and on the days when I’m not racing I often go out just ‘cruising’ with friends. It’s hard to sum up my summer in a handful of words but here are a couple of pictures…”
Corps de Ballet member, Caitlin Peabody, came to Erie for a weekend to visit. We hung by the pool, enjoyed some good food and drink, AND I even got her to sail a race with me! I think she enjoyed it!?
This is a sunrise photo taken at approximately 5:30 am. Seventy boats came in from all different cities for this regatta. It was a beautiful morning.
